Brain Gain, an initiative of Palestine TechnoPark within the Palestine Diaspora Technology Network, hosted Dr. Majdi Mafarja for a session on how Palestinian startups can enter the Gulf market.
About the speaker
Dr. Majdi Mafarja is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Birzeit University and the CEO and Co-Founder of LogesTechs, an AI-powered delivery management platform operating across MENA.
His research spans metaheuristic optimization, feature selection, machine learning, and bio-inspired computing. He is the co-author of the Harris Hawks Optimization algorithm, a widely adopted algorithm that has inspired hundreds of derivative researches works worldwide. His work has earned him recognition as a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher, the only Palestinian researcher to appear on this prestigious global list, and he has been consistently ranked among Stanford University's Top 2% Scientists worldwide.
Beyond academia, Dr. Mafarja leads LogesTechs, an AI-powered delivery management platform operating across MENA. LogesTechs was selected for KAUST's TAQADAM Accelerator as one of the top ten startups, the Qatar TASMU Accelerator, and the Saudi Arabia RDI Startup Attraction Program. His work bridges cutting-edge AI research with real-world applications in logistics and supply chain optimization.
Dr. Mafarja holds a PhD in Computer Science from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) and an Executive MBA from UMEF University, Switzerland.
