About

As a software architect I make high level decisions about the design and architecture of the application, help design and provide key technical direction to upcoming projects, and produce user stories for the development team. I've recently been promoted from a senior software engineer into this role. We build a large cloud-based healthcare software offering primarily catered to general practitioner (GP) clinics, and are the largest healthcare software company in Australia.

I've been involved with many local Palestinian groups here and am experienced in planning and running events. I'm also well-connected to many of the Palestinian movements here, and to the Know Thy Heritage movement. Professionally I'm a strong fullstack developer with experience building modern and complex web applications. I'm a passionate writer and have helped edit and refine a number of key documents for KTH. All of these skills together I think would enable me to contribute in some form to the network. I'm very versatile and generally willing to do whatever form of work is of benefit.

Palestinian Heritage

Yes I am. Most of my ancestry is from villages surrounding Jenin. My mother was born in Ramallah, and her father in Az-Zakaria, a village northwest of Hebron that was depopulated during the Nakba. Her mother was born and raised in Arrabeh, near Jenin. Both of my dad's parents were born and raised in Ya'bad, near Jenin. All of my grandparents were working in Kuwait during 1967, and lost their residence in Palestine as a result. My parents were raised in Kuwait and fled to Jordan at the onset of the Gulf War, before immigrating to Australia, where I and my siblings were born and raised.
