The “Buwwal” coffee table draws inspiration from traditional Palestinian embroidery motifs, reflecting cultural meanings tied to environment and history. It reinterprets the “Buwwal” pattern in a contemporary way, avoiding repetition through artistic abstraction and modification. Crafted using natural wood and epoxy, the piece balances authenticity and modernity, resulting in a cohesive and expressive contemporary design.
A coffee table inspired by the traditional Palestinian game “Mancala,” reimagined as a functional everyday furniture piece while preserving its cultural significance. It is crafted from solid beech wood using CNC technology, with a removable glass top that allows the table to be used for gameplay. The design merges contemporary functionality with a meaningful reference to cultural heritage.
The table “Sitti’s Tray” is inspired by the straw trays handmade by the grandmother with skill and love, evoking childhood memories while preserving a traditional Palestinian craft at risk of disappearance. One of these trays was transformed into a furniture piece using molds and resin, maintaining its original spirit while occasionally reinterpreting it with contemporary touches to suit different tastes and homes.
Hijabat: A force or energy which emanates from certain people and leads to others being deliberately harmed, and causing people luck or the lack of luck. An envious eye usually affects people without them knowing so.
Environmental sustainability through recycling date palm waste (palm fronds) and transforming it into a wood alternative material. An innovative and effective product has been designed to reduce waste and maximize the utilization of available natural resources.
