Ramallah, Palestine – Palestine TechnoPark announced the successful closure of applications for the AI Challenge 2026, organized in partnership with Taawon, as part of AI Week 2026. The challenge received an overwhelming response, attracting more than 150 applicants from across Palestine, including developers, students, researchers, and entrepreneurs.
Following this strong interest, the organizing committee will now begin the selection process to identify the most promising candidates, who will advance to the next stage of the program. Selected participants will embark on a mentorship phase starting April 25, 2026, where they will receive guidance from local and international experts to further develop their ideas and prepare for the hackathon.
The AI Challenge 2026 focuses on the next frontier of artificial intelligence—intelligent systems capable of reasoning, planning, and executing complex tasks autonomously. These technologies represent a major shift in how AI is applied across industries, opening new possibilities for innovation and efficiency.
The challenge will bring together top talent from across Palestine to collaborate on developing AI-powered solutions addressing real-world needs in key sectors, including public services, business automation, education, healthcare, and smart cities.
Over the course of two intensive days, selected participants will work in multidisciplinary teams to design and prototype advanced AI solutions using cutting-edge tools such as LLM APIs and modern AI frameworks. The program will feature hands-on technical workshops, continuous mentorship, and a final pitching session evaluated by a panel of industry leaders and experts.
Winning teams will receive prizes, extended mentorship, and opportunities for incubation, supporting them in transforming their ideas into scalable startups and impactful digital solutions.
In addition, the hackathon introduces the AI Innovation Credits Program, a unique initiative supported by Palestinian technology professionals and companies in the diaspora. Through this program, participants will gain access to AI API credits, cloud computing resources, and expert mentorship, enabling them to build high-quality prototypes and experiment with advanced technologies. This initiative further strengthens the connection between local talent and the global Palestinian tech community, fostering long-term collaboration, investment opportunities, and knowledge exchange.
Walaa Samara, Director of Palestine TechnoPark, stated:
