The Palestinian Techno Park and the Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence sign a memorandum of cooperation

Palestinian Techno Park, represented by its Chairman of the Board, Dr. Abdel Latif Abu Hajla, and the Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence, represented by its Chairman, Mr. Adnan Samara, signed a memorandum of understanding for mutual cooperation between the two parties on Thursday, October 23, 2019.

Attending the signing of the memorandum of understanding for the Techno Park were: Mr. Saad Abdel Hadi, Mr. Ala Alaeddin, Rasem Swan, and Mustafa Ali, while representing the Higher Council for Innovation were Mr. Ziad T'ama.

The memorandum stipulates the necessity of joint work to raise awareness and promote a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation in modern and emerging technology fields through various activities undertaken by both parties. These activities aim to disseminate knowledge and promote technologies and their role in developing creative and practical solutions for various vital sectors in Palestine. Among these activities are specialized workshops on these technologies and their applications in various vital sectors such as virtual and augmented reality in various sectors, Internet of Things and its applications, artificial intelligence and its applications in various sectors, modern financial technology and its applications, modern technology and its applications for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, developing practical models and designs, and producing them in innovation labs.

Dr. Abu Hajla praised this cooperation, which will work to enhance creativity and entrepreneurship by jointly promoting digital entrepreneurship and keeping pace with modern technology in Palestinian society. It will also create a conducive environment for applied scientific research and development, provide job opportunities for students and new graduates, and provide innovative solutions for various national sectors, thereby contributing to boosting the national economy.

Dr. Abu Hajla also emphasized the importance of using an integrated creative environment in the laboratories of the Techno Park, where creative labs expand cooperation with local and international educational institutions and creative labs to strengthen partnerships and cooperation in the areas of scientific research and development and the implementation of various projects with the job market. He also stated that the Techno Park is providing opportunities for cooperation with the Higher Council for Innovation to use this environment.

For his part, Mr. Samara praised the partnership with the Techno Park for its significant role in supporting the goals of the council and providing all means to successfully accomplish its tasks. He said that the memorandum of understanding will work to enhance networking and cooperation with startups and entrepreneurs, as it is a priority for both parties. The memorandum will seek to create favorable conditions for innovators to develop their own projects to achieve the desired success. It will not only provide consultations and guidance but also network them with local and international mentors and companies, in addition to connecting them with other startups and developers to collaborate in project development and provide them with dedicated spaces for their startups.
