The Palestinian Automotive Company and the Palestinian Techno Park (PTP) recently signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at supporting the digital entrepreneurship sector and implementing joint projects within innovation, science, technology, and modern technologies labs, as well as developing a special application for the Palestinian Automotive Company.
The agreement was signed by the CEO of the park, Rasim Sawaan, and the CEO of the Palestinian Automotive Company, Nader Hawari, in the presence of the manager of the virtual and augmented reality lab at the park, Basim Maylla, and the business development manager at the Palestinian Automotive Company, Amar Al-Qawasmi.
The memorandum includes exchanging information and expertise, supporting entrepreneurial businesses, cooperating in technological entrepreneurship and its applications in Palestine, and developing practical solutions using modern technologies tailored to meet the needs of the Palestinian Automotive Company.
Additionally, there will be a special collaboration within the "Virtual and Augmented Reality Applications" project under the Innovation Lab, being implemented with An-Najah National University, in addition to developing the application specific to the Palestinian Automotive Company, to include interactive augmented reality solutions to introduce one of the company's cars as an initial stage.
In his comment, Rasim Sawaan praised this collaboration, saying that they are pleased to harness innovation as a basis for business development and the economy as a whole, explaining that their goal is to stimulate entrepreneurship programs and capacity building in the technology field, along with providing opportunities for the development of innovative and entrepreneurial ideas in this sector, as we see here today.
Meanwhile, Nader Hawari noted that this agreement is a step towards supporting technological innovation and entrepreneurship, adding that they have confidence in the creative minds of our youth in developing a modern application specific to our company, pointing out that we are also pleased to be part of enhancing the entrepreneurship system in one of the most promising sectors in terms of opportunities, stating that this will enhance digitization and the role of technology in the economic sector, in addition to contributing to creating job opportunities and employment for young people.
Moreover, a tour was organized for the building of the Palestinian-Indian Technological Park, which is currently under construction, during which the project engineer, Noor Al-Far, provided an explanatory briefing on the building and its facilities, highlighting that the building is the first building of the project, which represents the cornerstone of the park, with completion of the finishing works of the building expected in the last quarter of this year.
It is expected that the building, after its opening, will provide a supportive and encouraging environment for innovation and creativity, for entrepreneurs, freelancers, businessmen, students, and researchers with its various facilities, and the presence of labs for creativity.
It is worth mentioning that the Palestinian Techno Park (PTP) was established in 2016 as a non-profit organization, and it is a member of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP), focusing on developing the uses of modern technology in Palestine and benefiting from it in various economic sectors, in addition to assisting scientific institutions and entrepreneurial and technical associations, establishing a basic national structure, and creating a business and entrepreneurship environment to help develop and market business opportunities.
