The AM Qattan Foundation, represented by the Educational Formation Unit, signed a cooperation agreement with the Palestine Techno Park/ on August 11, 2022. This agreement was represented by the Educational Innovation Center established in partnership with the Belgian company Yomina. The agreement aims to establish a training camp in the fields of artificial intelligence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and to integrate life with education through the STEM educational system for a group of students and teachers in Palestine.
The camp, supervised by the British expert in primary computing, Matt Moore, contributed to the development of the creative potential of the participants and provided them with the necessary experience. This was achieved by focusing on new programming platforms such as "Micro:Bit" - pocket-sized computer devices with input and output buttons that allow children to program and interact with them easily and attractively.
Coding using "Micro:Bit" encourages children to acquire the basic skills needed for today's modern digital world. "Micro:Bit" integrates the code written by children with embedded devices to create interesting projects, teaching them how to control devices through programming. This method enhances children's understanding of device operation mechanisms by helping them understand, through experience, the necessity of programming devices to respond to their code and inputs.
Furthermore, the Qattan Foundation supported 27 students from participating schools in the "Creative Child... Bright Future" project funded by the Drosos Foundation. They participated in the training programs offered by Technopark Palestine-Birzeit. The foundation also focused on developing teaching methodology for teachers through the STEM system, which integrates five different academic fields including science, technology, engineering, arts and humanities, and mathematics. This aims to provide educational experiences that connect education with daily life and develop the personal skills necessary for the job market.
