Municipal Partnerships Launched to Advance Smart City Innovation through Urban Up Program

A series of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between Palestine TechnoPark and the municipalities of Nablus, Dura, Al-Eizariya, and Birzeit, marking the official launch of strategic collaboration under the Urban Up – Municipal Innovation Incubator.

The Urban Up program is a 12-month initiative designed to connect municipalities with innovators and entrepreneurs to co-develop smart, practical technology solutions that enhance municipal services, improve infrastructure efficiency, and create more responsive and sustainable urban environments.

Through this partnership, participating municipalities will work closely with innovation stakeholders to identify key challenges and develop solutions in areas such as service delivery, data management, and smart city applications. The program also aims to strengthen institutional capacities in artificial intelligence and data-driven decision-making.

Implemented in partnership with INDIGO – Inclusive Digital Governance and supported by GIZ, the initiative represents an important step toward fostering innovation at the municipal level and advancing the development of smarter, more resilient Palestinian cities.

This collaboration reflects a growing commitment to building sustainable partnerships between local government and the innovation ecosystem, paving the way for scalable solutions and long-term impact.
