Preserving Heritage and Promoting Tourism through Virtual Reality.

Polytechnic University in Hebron and the Palestine Techno Park held a workshop on Preserving Heritage and Promoting Tourism through Virtual Reality. The workshop was presented by Dr. Ramzi Hassan from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, in the presence of the University President, Professor Imad Al-Khatib, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Technological Park, Mr. Ala Alaeddin, the Director of the Technological Park, Mr. Rasim Sawwan, representatives from local community institutions, the University Vice President for Planning and Development, Engineer Ayman Sultan, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Engineering, Dr. Zain Al-Din Salah, and both academic and administrative staff, as well as university students.

President Al-Khatib welcomed Mr. Hassan and highlighted the importance of virtual reality technology as one of the pillars of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He also discussed the university's efforts to keep up with technology, culminating in the establishment of the Smart Systems Research Center and the launch of the Master's program in Smart Systems.

Mr. Alaeddin discussed the activities of the Techno Park and its stimulating environment for cooperation and partnership between academic institutions, research centers, companies, and organizations working in the fields of technology, environment, and innovation, for their role in supporting the Palestinian economy, growth, and progress in the Palestinian technology sector.

During the workshop, Dr. Ramzi Hassan presented a series of projects documenting Palestinian archaeological sites using 3D scanning technology, showcasing these sites using virtual reality technology.

During the workshop, Mr. Fayez Abdul Hafez from Al-Istiqlal University provided an overview of the project using virtual reality in education, which is being implemented by the Polytechnic University of Palestine in collaboration with partners from local and European universities.
