Palestine TechnoPark Hosts Second Tech Pulse Session on Freelancing and Economic Resilience

Palestine TechnoPark organized the second session of its Tech Pulse series, focusing on freelancing as a key driver for economic resilience and job creation in Palestine.

The session brought together stakeholders from across the ecosystem to explore the growing role of freelancing and remote work in addressing high unemployment rates. Discussions highlighted how digital work opportunities are enabling Palestinian youth and technology professionals to access global markets, generate income, and build sustainable careers without the need for physical relocation.

Participants examined the skills, platforms, and support systems required to succeed in the digital economy, as well as the role of ecosystem enablers and the private sector in creating an enabling environment for freelancers. The dialogue also emphasized the importance of strengthening digital infrastructure, expanding access to global platforms, and supporting talent development aligned with market demands.

A key outcome of the session will be the development of a policy-oriented position paper, capturing the main challenges and recommendations discussed, and serving as a reference for decision-makers and stakeholders working to advance the freelancing ecosystem in Palestine.

The session further highlighted the importance of advocacy efforts to promote enabling policies, improve access to digital payment systems, and formally recognize freelancing as a legitimate and sustainable form of employment.

The Tech Pulse program continues to serve as a platform for dialogue and policy engagement, bringing together key actors to address critical challenges and shape the future of the Palestinian digital economy.
