Palestine TechnoPark celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of the Training of Trainers (ToT) program in furniture design, marking a pioneering initiative of its kind in Palestine under the Creative Hub.
The program was implemented by the Small Enterprise Center (SEC) in partnership with Palestine TechnoPark, as part of the “Supporting the Competitiveness and Growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Palestine (SMCGP)” programme, implemented by Global Communities and funded by the Swedish Government.
Targeting architects, designers, and engineers, the six-week program (48 training hours) focused on furniture design through a design thinking approach, combining theoretical learning with hands-on application. Participants engaged in individual project-based work and received tailored mentorship, enabling them to develop independent furniture designs, including both digital models and scaled prototypes.
In addition to technical skills, the program equipped participants with the competencies required to act as future trainers, ensuring the sustainability and scalability of knowledge transfer within the sector.
The training was delivered in collaboration with Rudolph Schelling Webermann (RSW), a Germany-based multidisciplinary design and innovation studio with extensive international experience and numerous prestigious design awards.
