Urban Up Hackathon Concludes with Innovative Solutions for Palestinian Municipalities

Palestine TechnoPark successfully concluded the **Urban Up Hackathon**, bringing together selected startups and innovators for two intensive days focused on developing practical, technology-driven solutions to urban and municipal challenges in Palestine.

The Hackathon was designed to help participating teams move beyond initial ideas and develop clearer, more scalable, and implementable solutions that respond directly to the needs of municipalities and citizens.

From Municipal Challenges to Practical Solutions

Throughout the two-day Hackathon, participating teams worked closely with mentors, experts, and municipal representatives to further develop their proposed solutions and better understand the challenges faced by Palestinian cities and municipalities.

A major focus of the program was ensuring that innovation responds to **real needs from the field**, connecting technology and entrepreneurship with challenges related to municipal services and urban development.

During the second day, teams participated in **Lean Canvas and business model development training**, helping them examine their value propositions, target users, implementation models, partnerships, and potential for growth.

Individual mentoring sessions provided each team with tailored guidance to refine its idea, strengthen its value proposition, and better connect its proposed solution with the needs of municipalities and the communities they serve.

Preparing Teams to Pitch Their Solutions

The Hackathon also included pitching and presentation training, followed by final review sessions to help participating teams communicate their solutions more effectively.

At the conclusion of the program, teams presented their final pitches, showcasing promising approaches to addressing municipal and urban challenges through technology and innovation.

The completion of the Hackathon marks an important milestone in the Urban Up journey. Selected teams will move forward to the **incubation phase**, where they will receive further support to develop their solutions and move closer toward implementation.
